The Amateur Athletic Union(AAU) is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer, sports organizations. It hosts tournaments. You must have a memberships to compete.
We are a Club we play in many associations including AAU.
Unlike leagues, tournaments are always during the weekend, and may consist of 3-5 games each weekend. Games start Friday and conclude on Sunday. Players can have 1-3 games on a Saturday and/or Sunday. Some tournament games many require travel out of state.
Players interested in playing with the GA Pearls will have to attend an evaluation/tryout for their age group. If tryouts have already been completed. Players will have to contact the coach for their grade to be invited to a practice/workout.
The GA Pearls coaches are experienced volunteer qualified coaches who have coached competitively for a number of years. Some coaches have been with the club since it's inception 2002. All coaches participates in a coaches training program.
Upon Registration., you will receive a schedule from your coach. Tournament schedules are set by the tournament directors. The GA Pearls have no control of when, where and at what time games will be scheduled. Most likely, tournament schedules will be posted the wednesday before the tournament. However, there have been times when schedules have been revised and we sometimes do not get a final schedule until Thursday or Friday.
The GA Pearls presents an inclusive package of everything your child needs to compete. Player's participation fees depend on the team that they are selected for. Players chosen for the Elite teams will pay a higher fee due to the expense associated with participation. All players are expected to represent themselves, GA Pearls and Christ in excellence.
.The GA Pearls have Elite Traveling teams for high competitive players. Most players have 2-3 years of playing experience at a high competitive level. We have Elite teams for 8th Grade-HS Junior.
Elite teams play in college exposure events. These events allow players to play in front of either college coaches or recruiting scouting services. These events will give players an opportunity to be evaluated for consideration for college athletic scholarships. Players play in tournament throughout the eastern region.
